Hermitage Bay is a natural paradise – a perfect retreat for anyone wanting to escape the stresses and strains of a busy life. Our 30 individual suites nestle on the beach and hillside of a perfect bay, in beautiful tropical gardens, in the perfect seclusion offered by the surrounding 140 acres of lush, undeveloped land.

Our food is delicious. We use as much locally grown and organic produce as we can, and are very proud that we now have our own organic kitchen garden on site. Our staff are wonderful. Many of them have been with us since the hotel opened. Looking after you gives them joy. Nothing is too much trouble.

Nestling into a breathtaking, hidden cove on the southwest coast of Antigua, Hermitage Bay is surrounded by lush, untouched hillsides and the brilliant blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. In the distance, the islands of Montserrat, St. Kitt’s and Nevis form silhouettes on the skyline. The large, natural mangrove that adjoins the property supports a unique and intriguing eco-system of its own and enhances the natural beauty of the bay with its still, dark waters and diverse plant life.

Hermitage Bay is about 35 minutes from the airport, 30 minutes from the capital of St. John’s and just 10 minutes away from the Jolly Harbour marina complex that offers shops, restaurants, golf and tennis. While the hotel is close enough to accommodate day trips into town or excursions around the island, a private, unmade road separates Hermitage Bay from the rest of the world, contributing to its seclusion.
