Motor Yacht Oculus- Managed by IYC Yachts

An afternoon of intimate dining onboard Motor Yacht Oculus: A New Era of Luxury Yachting Begins!

As we made our way along the bustling dock, we headed towards a vessel brand new to the Caribbean and the Antigua’s Yacht Show. The sun shines unwavering overhead as a new chapter in yachting history unfolds. Motor Yacht Oculus, a stunning 37-meter vessel, made its grand debut at the 2024 Antigua Charter Yacht Show. Launched in May 2024, Oculus is already turning heads with her unparalleled luxury. Recently, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Captain Salvador Aragao, who has been onboard for just two weeks but is already brimming with enthusiasm about what the future holds for this remarkable yacht.

One of the highlights of this early season was an exclusive lunch onboard, where a select group of guests were invited to indulge in an intimate experience that perfectly encapsulated the essence of the vessel. From the moment guests stepped aboard, the classic yet contemporary design of the yacht set the tone for an afternoon of refined elegance. The vessel’s interiors are a stunning fusion of modern luxury and timeless yachting style – its rich textures and materials created a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The dining experience itself was nothing short of exquisite. Every dish served was an ode to culinary artistry, prepared by a talented chef and showcasing the freshest, most vibrant ingredients. The menu included – Starter: A5 wagyu on brioche slider with micro greens salad. Main: Pan-roasted salmon with chimichurri sauce, roasted Asparagus and fingerling potato. Dessert: Chocolate mousse sphere with blackberry tamarind sorbet. Each more delicious than the last, while the attentive crew ensured that every need was met with grace and professionalism – the afternoon was an impeccable celebration of luxury living at sea.

The excitement aboard M/Y Oculus is contagious. Captain Aragao expressed his eagerness for the upcoming charter season. “I am most looking forward to cruising the Caribbean seas, booking charters with potential clients and exploring along the coast, all the way down to The Grenadines and back”. The crew, comprising of eight total, was also incredibly enthusiastic and ready to offer guests a truly unforgettable experience. The Chief Stewardess, Cathleen Benade, being her first time in the region shared “We’re all looking forward to new challenges, people, experiences and culture the season has to offer – as well as welcoming guests onboard and setting sail to some of the most beautiful destinations in the Caribbean”. “With an experienced, dedicated and multicultural crew in place, Oculus is primed to offer unforgettable charters that cater to every guest’s desire.

From intimate family gatherings to corporate events or lavish celebrations, this yacht is designed to deliver exceptional moments on the water, with its spacious build and many amenities onboard to choose from.  For those looking to make memories that last a lifetime, Motor Yacht Oculus offers a new level of sophistication, luxury and style!
